Event details
Process isolations, which involve systems of work and mechanical equipment, such as valves, to prevent release of flammable and hazardous substances, are a key barrier to prevent major accident hazards when carrying out intrusive work offshore. HSE continue to investigate loss of containment incidents associated with isolations and find significant failings during inspections. They therefore remain a focus area during Duty Holder interventions.
This webinar, delivered by the Health and Safety Executive, aims to reinforce legal requirements, expected practice and drive improvement in regards use of process isolations in the UKCS offshore oil and gas sector.
Key findings from incidents and regulatory inspections will be used to highlight failings and provide learning opportunities.
This webinar is intended for all those involved in isolation activities for offshore installations in the UKCS, from design, installation, approval and audit.
What the webinar will cover
- Potential major accident hazards during use of isolations
- Isolation design and selection of standard
- Risk assessment and use of variations from the benchmark standard
- Planning and preparation of isolations, including draining, venting, purging and flushing (DVPF)
- Installation, including integrity testing
- Training and competence
- Monitoring, audit and review
All attendees will receive a CPD certificate.
