The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, also known as Martyn’s Law introduces a new legal framework designed to protect the public from terrorism.
To do so, it places legal obligations on dutyholders responsible for certain premises and events, requiring them to consider the risk of terrorist attacks and take proportionate steps to reduce their impact. Failure to do so can lead to fines up to 5% of worldwide revenue, daily penalties, enforcement notices where operations can be shut down or in some cases criminal prosecution.
In this webinar, regulatory experts, Elliott Kenton and Donna Helgeson from Weightmans will provide an overview of the legal obligations, its purpose and the organisation and activities likely to fall within scope. Crucially, they will provide you with practical advice on how to become compliant.
The legislation will become enforceable from April 2027, and therefore this is a timely webinar for those who are unfamiliar with Martyn’s Law, or who want a greater understanding of their legal obligations.
