Event details
As part of our current HSE noise inspection campaign Noise and Vibration specialists have been looking at the quality and content of reports provided by noise consultants to clients and we have identified a number of common failings.
This free one-hour webinar will highlight some of the common issues and failings we have seen and provide helpful advice and guidance on how to easily correct them. Some examples of the common issues we have seen include:
-
Incorrect approach to noise measurement including lack of competence in noise measurement, use of unsuitable instrumentation, unrealistic noise levels, confusion between noise levels and daily exposures.
-
No estimates of daily personal noise exposures (LEP,d) of employees.
-
Reference to out-of-date Regulations and use of outdated terminology or lack of understanding of the current Exposure Action and Limit Values.
-
Incorrect assessment of hearing protector performance and poor-quality advice on hearing protection.
-
Lack of clarity about the status of a report (e.g. is it a noise survey, noise assessment, noise risk assessment?) leading to confusion of the client about what actions are required by them.
-
No mention of noise controls or the need for health surveillance.
Our aim is to provide advice on all these issues and more, to help improve the quality of the advice on noise that is provided to industry.
All attendees will receive a CPD certificate.
