Event details

The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 (Vibration Regulations) place clear duties on employers to prevent hand-arm vibration risk where reasonably practicable, and where this is not possible, to reduce it to as low a level as is reasonably practicable. Despite this, industry practice appears to be drifting towards ongoing monitoring and measurement of vibration magnitudes and vibration exposures. Over‑reliance on instrumentation can distract from the Vibration Regulations’ primary intent, which is risk elimination and effective reduction.

This webinar addresses some commonly encountered poor practices and promotes a focus on risk reduction and control, helping consultants deliver better advice and enabling equipment suppliers to position their products appropriately within the regulatory framework.

Aims of the Webinar
  • To clarify the requirements of the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005, in particular emphasising that measurement (where it is necessary) should support control, rather than replacing it.
  • To promote proportionate, prevention-led vibration risk management.
Objectives
  • Identify and address common shortcomings and bad practice in relation to vibration consultants’ reports and employers’ vibration risk assessments and control strategies.
  • Highlight the key components of a good quality vibration risk assessment.

All attendees will receive a CPD certificate.
